The St. Louis Cardinals agreed to terms with reserve outfielder Kerry Robinson on Saturday.
Robinson, 30, hit .250 with one home run and 16 RBI in a career-high 208 at-bats last season. He is a lifetime .263 hitter with 46 RBI and 24 stolen bases.
The Cardinals also announced that outfielder Orlando Palmeiro declined the club's arbitration offer and righthander Gene Stechschulte was not tendered a contract for 2004.
Palmeiro, 34, hit .271 in 141 games last season - his first in the National
League. A member of the Anaheim Angels from 1995-2002, Palmeiro can continue
to negotiate with the team until January 8.
Stechschulte, 30, missed all of 2003 after undergoing surgery in March to repair a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder. Stechschulte, who becomes a free agent, is 8-7 with six saves and a 4.58 ERA in 116 games - all with St. Louis.
The Anaheim Angels announced Saturday they did not tender a contract to Shawn Wooten, making the catcher-first baseman a free agent.
A member of the Angels' world championship team in 2002, Wooten batted .243 with seven home runs and 32 RBI in 98 games last season. In 233 career contests, the 31-year-old owns a .281 average with 18 homers and 84 RBI.
Of the 28 players not under contract with the Angels, Wooten was the only one not offered a deal to return.
