Maybe the Seattle Mariners can find their offense on the road.
Playing the only team they've beaten in a series this year, the Mariners begin
a 10-game trip with the opener of a three-game set against the Texas Rangers
at the Ballpark in Arlington.
Although they won four straight before their current two-game slide, the Mariners are averaging just 2.5 runs in their last eight games. Seattle, which hasn't scored over four runs in any game during the stretch, is 12th in the American League with 63 runs.
Starting the season 0-5, the Mariners have won five of their last eight.
``I know we started very slow but things are improving,'' Designated hitter Edgar Martinez said. ``We have to see what happens in the next few weeks. I think it's going to improve. We're going to play much better.''

The Mariners are coming off an 8-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics at Safeco Field
on Thursday, splitting a four-game series. Jamie Moyer went 4 1-3 innings, allowing
five runs on seven hits, including a 3-run homer to Eric Chavez in the first.
The Rangers are coming off a 7-5 loss to the Anaheim Angels on Thursday. Laynce Nix hit his third homer of the season and David Dellucci capped his first career two-homer game with a leadoff shot in the eighth against Ben Weber.
Dellucci's homers were his first since last Aug 10 with the Yankees. He hit just three last season in a combined 166 at-bats with New York and Arizona.
``I've enjoyed getting some playing time as of late, I've been working real hard in the cage and I was able to put it all together today,'' Dellucci said.
With the loss, the Rangers closed out a six-game trip at 3-3.
