No team has had as much trouble scoring runs than the Montreal Expos.
The Expos may have a hard time ending their batting woes as they face Kevin
Millwood in the opener of a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Montreal is the first team not to score more than four runs in any of its first 16 games since the 1968 Chicago White Sox, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Montreal's 26 runs tie the third-fewest in major league history in 16 games, according to Elias, matching the 1972 Milwaukee Brewers and ahead of only the 1907 Brooklyn Superbas (15) and the 1909 Washington Senators (25).
Montreal collected five hits and left seven men on base in a 3-2 loss to the New York Mets on Thursday.
The Expos now try to solve Millwood, who earned his first win of the season Saturday against Montreal, allowing three runs and seven hits in seven innings. Millwood is 12-5 with a 3.39 ERA in 20 career starts against Montreal.

Philadelphia, though, has lost three straight after winning four in a row.
The Phillies lost 9-7 to the Florida Marlins on Thursday in a game that featured a bench-clearing brawl.
Phillies catcher Todd Pratt and Marlins shortstop Alex Gonzalez were ejected after starting a melee in the second inning following a high and inside pitch from Brett Myers to Gonzalez.
The Phillies scored twice in the ninth before Jim Thome, who had homered earlier, struck out against Armando Benitez with two on to end it. Thome connected for the second time in two games.
The Expos return to Montreal for the first time this season. Montreal's first
six home games were played in San Juan.
